What are the differences between EDTA Disodium and EDTA Calcium Disodium? The product pages look identical except for the name and pricing.

The difference between EDTA Disodium and EDTA Calcium Disodium is Calcium. There are advantages and disadvantages with including Calcium with the EDTA.

    Calcium Advantages:
    1) Increased pH buffering
    2) Higher pH
    3) Higher solubility
    4) Higher systemic bio-availability
    5) Decreased side-effects: nausea, loose stools, diarrhea
    6) Less expensive
    7) Greater availability

    Calcium Disadvantages:
    1) Lower potency: 91% EDTA, 9% Calcium by weight
    2) Lower Calcium chelation efficiency

    Thanks for asking!
